I've been demanding it for years, and it looks like my dream is finally coming true -- Nathan Drake is making Elena Fisher an honest woman. Yesterday, a new Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception trailer ran during Sony's E3 Press Conference and featured the return of Drake's love interest Elena Fisher. During it, Elena is clearly wearing a band on her ring finger.
It's a beautiful day -- TO DIE!
IGN hypothesized that this meant Drake and Elena were hitched or at least engaged, but I was unconvinced. Developer Naughty Dog likes breaking these two up, and as Drake wasn't wearing a ring, I wasn't going to get excited only to get my heart broken. Today in a behind closed doors demo, my fears were quelled. These two are still in love, and that means the ring on Elena's hand at least means she's engaged to our hero (or so I think).
See, the snippet of gameplay I saw focused on Drake infiltrating a cargo plane -- I assume, the same cargo plane that's crashed in the Uncharted 3 debut trailer and art from Uncharted 3. Elena and Drake began making their way toward the plane by doing the normal Uncharted climbing and jumping, but they ran into a wrought iron gate that was too high for Elena to scale on her own. Drake said he'd climb to the top and pull her over, but he instead hopped over the fence and told her to take the Jeep behind her and get away. After almost losing her last time -- Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, people -- he said he couldn't risk it again. She squeezed his hand, they exchanged knowing glances, and Elena left.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. They're in love.
