MLB hot stove: Nathan Eovaldi signs 4-year deal with Red SoxDecember 7, 2018 4:53am

Nathan Eovaldi's first three months with the Red Sox went pretty well, so the pitcher has decided to stick around.

Eovaldi has signed a new four-year deal, the Red Sox announced Thursday.

According to multiple reports, the deal is worth $67.5 million.

The 28-year-old right-hander posted a 3.33 ERA in 12 regular-season appearances (11 starts) after arriving in a July 25 trade with Tampa Bay.

He was even better in a hybrid role throughout the postseason, allowing just four earned runs in 22 1/3 innings across two starts and four relief appearances.

Originally drafted by the Dodgers in 2008, Eovaldi also pitched for the Marlins before beginning his tour of the AL East with the Yankees, Rays and Red Sox.
